A McLuhanesque Look at New Media and Psychotherapy

This video explores Marshall McLuhan's claim that our psyches are modified by the media we use. It goes back in time to feel what oral culture was like, looks at what happened when print arrived, and speculates on how our psyches will be when electronic media have taken over. It looks at the mental disorders listed in the DSM, and raises questions about the nature of mental illness and the role of psychotherapy in a culture in transition.
